Warparty 2006's DBA Tournament

'Wars of Aggression' a fun, new format for a DBA Tourney

We had an excellent turn-out for DBA at Warparty 2006. Fourteen players participated. We used a modified scoring system that rewarded aggressive, hard-fought battles.

With frequent cries of "I just want to kill something!!" (tm), Mike Demana eked out an overall victory over second place finisher, David Zecchini.  Pursers within Kim Young's Polybian Roman legion deprived Kim of X points during scoring (their actual score being XC not the LXXX points they had reported).  Rich Hartley catapulted into fourth place with a general slaying 8-1 final round.  Of note, the third round saw five of six battles lose generals.

Final Standings:

1. Mike Demana (Early Bedouin), 98 pts., 2-2

2. Dave Zecchini (Thracian), 95 pts., 3-1

3. Kim Young (Polybian Roman), 90 pts., 3-1

4. Rich Hartley (Later Sargonid), 88 pts., 1-3

5. John Meunier (New Kingdom Egyptian), 87 pts, 2-2

6. Eric Kronk, (Burmese), 83 pts., 2-2

7. Mike Cole (E. Forest American), 81 pts., 3-1

8. Zach Meunier (E. Imp. Roman), 75 pts., 2-2

9. Tom Graves (L. Babylonian), 75 pts., 2-2

10. Phil Hayes (Parthian), 71 pts., 1-3
